Here's what shipped to customers during the week of October 12, 2026: 3 product areas, part of the [Anyshift Product Updates](/blog/series/anyshift-product-updates) series.

## Replies in Slack threads without a tag

Once Annie is part of a Slack thread, follow-ups meant for her no longer need another `@Annie`. For each new message from a person in that thread, Annie reads the recent conversation and decides whether it is addressed to her. A follow-up question or a request gets a reply. Teammates talking to each other, acknowledgements like "ok" or "on it", and anything ambiguous get silence.

Bot messages, threads Annie hasn't joined, and threads where someone pressed **Stop** on her latest answer still need a tag. The behavior is controlled by the **Reply in threads without being tagged** switch on the Annie Automation default behavior card, on by default. Details are in [replies in threads without a tag](https://docs.anyshift.io/pages/product/customization/instructions) and the [Slack integration guide](https://docs.anyshift.io/pages/product/integration/slack).

## Annie can update herself in annie-cli v0.9.14

`annie update` now updates the CLI for you. On a Homebrew install it runs the upgrade directly. For a website download it prints the exact commands for your OS, architecture, and binary location, so you can copy and run them.

The release adds 2 update tools to the CLI:

```bash
annie update
annie update check --output json
```

Stable releases also tell you when a newer version is available, in the TUI status bar and at most once every 24 hours after a command. Turn the reminder off with `annie config set update_check false`. See [updating annie-cli](https://docs.anyshift.io/pages/product/integration/cli), or get the latest build from the [Annie CLI install page](https://annie-cli.anyshift.io/).

## Read-only repositories and one-click write mode for GitHub

If your organization uses the Anyshift Agentic App for [Propose Fix](https://docs.anyshift.io/pages/product/propose_fix), repositories assigned earlier through the read-only app used to stay read-only with no hint in the UI. Repository Assignment now marks them with a **Read-only** badge, and **Enable write mode** switches every eligible repository to the Agentic App in one click, with no need to unassign and reassign each one.

When the Agentic App can't see a repository yet, the notice links straight to that GitHub account's app access settings so you can add it. Setup is in the [GitHub integration guide](https://docs.anyshift.io/pages/integration/github).

That's the week. Try it in the [Anyshift product](/product), see how [on-call investigations](/on-call) work, and tell us what it unlocks for your team at [app.anyshift.io](https://app.anyshift.io). Last week's updates are in [What shipped, week of October 5](/blog/anyshift-shipped-week-of-2026-10-05).
